Take Back Kentucky(TBKY) voted at its May 2018 general monthly meeting in Hardin County, Kentucky to adopt the POST program. We will strongly advocate for a bill introduction and adoption for the 2019 Kentucky General Assembly along with other states. Post stands for protecting our students and teachers.
It’s Time For POST!
The POST Program is a common sense, low-cost, and well-designed program created to directly address the threat posed by an active shooter in schools. POST is the most thorough in the country and incorporates multiple, overlapping systems of both prevention and response.
THE POST PROGRAM WILL WORK FOR THREE REASONS:
We need to face the reality that a “Gun Free Zone” sign on the front door of our schools does nothing to protect our children. It does just the opposite – it tells the active shooter (murderer) that no one is capable of defending themselves.
2.) IMMEDIATE ARMED RESPONSE
3.) THOROUGHNESS OF TRAINING
How can you help in 2018?
Please Attend a School Board meeting.
The only way that POST will be implemented is for School Boards to hear from you: parents, teachers and students. If you support POST, let them know about it by attending a school board meeting and addressing the board. All board meetings have time reserved for public comments – you can show up and let them know what you think (remember – they work for you!).
